The Gala Event: Disco Decadence
On Friday, October 22, 2010, at the infamous Palais
Royale Ballroom, chocolate lovers will assemble to experience one of the most elegant and
lavish events held in Toronto, to benefit the Ava Rose
Fund/SickKids Foundation. Imagine walking into one of Toronto's historic landmarks
filled with the distinct aroma of chocolate emanating from every direction. The décor
reflects the history of the original ballroom that overlooks Lake Ontario, accommodating
up to 600 attendees. The décor is comprised of rich brown "chocolate" colours
and includes a magnificent stage and dance floor.
The night start off with a visit to our Silent Auction gallery while being served
samplings of chocolate and cream liqueurs. First to tempt you tastebuds are the savoury
food stations presented and catered by some of Toronto's top chefs and restaurants. Here
you will experience samplings of various savoury foods such as chicken, shrimp, beef and
pasta infused in white and dark chocolate.
Once you have digested the savoury fare you can move on
to treating yourself to decadent chocolate creations from bars to truffles available at
several Chocolate Stations positioned throughout the venue. Yes, we not only have a
Chocolate Fountain we have one that you will marvel over as white and dark
chocolate cascade.
At this point we suggest you take a break and work off
some of the calories by taking a walk over to the Silent Auction tables and then make your
way to the dance floor. With Disco Decadence being the theme of this year's Chocolate
Ball, there will be no shortage of dance music performed by our featured band
"Disco Inferno". In between sets, we will entertain you with our signature floor
shows, contests and prize draws.
The night is a long way from being over. If you have not
yet had your fill of chocolate delights, we have our large decadent dessert and gelato
station ready for you to indulge in.
One of our popular features at the end of the night is
the Cake Box run. Pending on how much product is still on the tables, you can fill up a
Cake Box to take home for a minimum small donation to SickKids.
On the way out you will receive our generous Goody Bag
filled with well goodies!
So come dressed the way you were - back in the disco era
-when you got all smartly dressed and smelling good to go out for your fun night out (that
is if you were old enough to be a part of it all) that was disco elegance at its
best. Keep in mind those who experienced the disco era did not wear costumes, they wore
disco fashion. We'll be giving out prizes for the best authentically reproduced disco
fashions.
Help make a significant difference by being part of this
unique Toronto event benefiting the Ava Rose Fund and SickKids Foundation.
